Also rushed for 227 yards and 6 TDs (over the course of the year, obviously not in those three games). His avg passer rating was 82. Dry spot was a completion rating of 50%.
For a rookie who spent the first 3 quarters of the season with the B-team those stats aren't too bad. Much room for improvement, but you can't say he went out there and flopped.
To be fair, he lost games to the Chargers and Raiders who were great in division, and beat the Texans who petered out halfway through the season.
But the fans....the fans loved him. I don't know if it's irrational or not, it just is what it is.
