Exactly. And if you come across a part that isn't sounding right, forget that part of the tab, and listen over and over and try to figure it out using context clues from the rest of the tab.
I recommend Audacity. A free, open source audio software wherein you can import a song (in virtually any format) and slow it down, boost the bass, etc. It's lovely. Especially because you can repeat a certain section on a song and just loop it. I've fallen asleep numerous times listening to a 5 second loop of a song. I don't know how my family didn't notice a 5 second loop repeating for an hour and a half... but that's neither here nor there.
