| Line 6 M13 + Volume Pedal Hey everyone,
Just looking for some advice about the M13. I purchased this along with a Fender HRD and play on a Epiphone LP. I've been using just this simple setup for a few months now (as our only electric guitar player) and I'm looking for some additional pieces to help out my versatility.
One of the things I feel like I can't do without any longer is a volume pedal. I DO NOT want to use an expression pedal with the volume "effect" in the M13 because it would eliminate an effect slot just for volume.
I think I'd like to get a volume pedal (which one?) followed by a wah or expression pedal.
The volume is important (I think), so now I'm trying to figure out which one and how to set it up in my chain. Just fyi, I also use the channel select switch with the HRD when I'm doing certain songs so I can go between slightly dirty to slightly clean without changing tones. I play through the clean side of the amp anytime I'm using the M13 effects.
What's the best way to get a volume pedal in that setup, and which one(s) should I consider using?
Thanks for the help! |

| I'd put it between the M13 and the amp. I use an Ernie Ball VP Jr., works just fine for me. |

| Nah, not the same. There is good use for a volume pedal. |

| I would set the volume pedal in the effects loop. That way you can send a sustained, compressed sound into the volume pedal for swells, and then add delay and reverb to that for spacy string-like sounds. I use a setup like that on my bass for string swells at church with long delay and the Octoverb setting. |

Different swells for different situations . |

| The new Dunlop pedal has been getting great reviews. I'd probably opt for it over an Ernie Ball pedal at the moment.

I've never thought it was a big deal, and sort of put off those who said it was an issue when it broke, but after doing it a few times, I really don't want to do it again.
The dunlop has a metal strap, which shouldn't break. It feels great, but it's much bigger than a EB Jr., maybe even the regular EB.
Tonally it's still a passive volume pedal, they all suck a little tone.
