NBA Draft

I don't guess there's much buzz about this because every analyst/NBA insider I've heard speak on the subject says something to the effect of "this is the weakest draft we've seen modern history". Here's a mock up of what's expected tonight. NBA mock draft 5.0 - NBA - Yahoo! Sports I guess the fist thing that jumps out at me is what a bummer for Cleavland and Utah. Cleavland has the 1st and 4th and Utah has the 3rd and 12th. Most years you would be ecstatic about those picks, but if this draft is really all that weak those picks might not turn into much. Also interesting that only one of the projected top 10 picks finished college, 5 are 20 years old or younger most have either two years or less of college or are international players.

Man... the Kings are REALLY trying to make me watch. They traded Beno Udrih and his stupid contract in a three team trade for John Salmons (pure scorer - they've had him before) and Jimmer Fredette. I can't believe I'm actually excited that they got Jimmer. This team is going to contend, and not too far down the road. Maybe not for a title, but playoffs.

So, I'm skimming through the sports news and I see that David Stern exited the stage to a chorus of boos last night after the draft. Apparently he's got the NBA headed towards a labor dispute that will likely end in a lock out. Has anybody else heard this? It would suck to have a sub par NFL season as a result of a lock out followed by an even crappier NBA season.

Looks like both may be heading for lock outs.

I fail to see how Duke has proven itself to be an NBA proving ground...unless you're counting all the guys who stayed too long and then never matriculated in the League.
