Haha no kidding. Honestly they expect to make maybe 1.5 bill in revenue, they can spend a few hundred million redoing everything... The graphics look good, I guess.... Just they don't look as good as battlefield. Its not enough improvement. To bad they seem to spend more money advertising than creating.

So people just play these games for multilayer, or is there any sort of emphasis on the story? If so, why don't people care about the story of the game?

I think the developer could have had just as much success with this game without all the profanity.

Yes, people care about the story. But even in other games were there is just the story changing, things like the graphics, game play, etc. also change, which is not the case with MW3. MW3 is a good game, but it is honestly just an expansion pack of MW2.

Ah, ok. I understand. Usually when I hear about COD games it is about the multiplayer aspect only, so I didn't really hear much about the story aspect. I didn't know how much it played into people buying the game or not.

Yes.. MW3 continues the story from the first two MW games. I played a little more since my review. I have to say that I'm pleased with the gameplay so far. It's much better than MW2, IMO.

I really want to like it but all the levels suck. Way too small and claustraphobic for my tastes.

There's likely going to be a recall of the PS3 version. Apparently it's causing a large number of PS3's to have Disc Read Errors.

I'm honestly really enjoying it. I love BF3, but sometimes I don't want to play super long and drawn out games.

Went to play this for the second time since I bought it and Psn was down....

They absolutely lose their minds when the riot shield shows up. It's like they're hypnotized in to uselessly shooting it while my team kills them.

I guess the reasons people don't care about single player are:

a) They are usually so short. The last few campaigns for COD have been about 4 or 5 hours. Not very much entertainment value for $60, when you could see a movie for $15 and it lasts 2 hours. The newest MW is a bit of an outlier here, as the campaign was about 7 hours I think. Really not enough to last longer than a few days of game play, but perhaps an improvement as long as the story is good. Multiplayer provides hundreds of hours of entertainment.

b) We love the competition. Especially in the COD series, its a race to prestige first, so you can show it off to everybody. Everyone wants to show off with the highest K/D, top of the team, cool game winning kill, etc. I'm not that great at the game personally, so I'm especially happy to see myself near the top from time to time.

c) More social interaction. Lots of people do play these games with their friends. And it helps that this is the most popular game there is, everyone of your friends likely has. Or at least have the best chance of owning it. Even movies are more social than single player, nobody goes usually goes alone.

It's not so much that they don't care about the story. It's that the multiplayer is just so good that you want to skip the single player.

...I borrowed MW3 from a student without asking. More accurately he left it at my house.

The story line in this one was better then Black Ops (but you have to remember that Black Ops has nothing to do with MW3 and that MW3 is the next chapter in the MW series). It turned out to be an alright story.

And of course you kept it safe for him inside your PS3/Xbox..
