| Long lost Aunt... Okay.... this is amazing...
My mother has 4 siblings, two sisters and two brothers. About 20 years ago, one of her sisters cut off all communication to anyone in the family. No one knew where she was living, (other than "the greater Phoenix area") or any way of contacting her. She became invisible.
Two days ago, she called my grandfather, and they talked for two hours. This was something no one ever thought would happen. She had called to say goodbye, as she had enough money to live to the end of the month. She was planning on taking her own life. She has many health problems, barely eats, and is down to 70 pounds. To make a long story shorter, she has since replied to emails from my mom and her other sister. She has expressed interest in at least re-establishing communication with the rest of the family, and possibly coming up here (Seattle-ish) temporarily. She said she is currently too weak to make the trip. At the end of their conversation, she was in much better spirits.
Please pray, firstly, for her health. Our hope is that she might gain enough strength that we might somehow be able to bring her up here. Secondly, we're hoping that these sudden bursts of communication don't scare her into silence again. Ideally, she could move up here to live with a member of the family, as several of us aren't short on space.
Thank you. |
