Detailing

Put simply, my car is a mess. It needs thoroughly washed. It need vacuumed. It needs waxed. It needs interior surfaces cleaned. It needs windows cleaned.

Aside from the fact that I (a) don't have a lot of free time and (b) am lazy with car maintenance, I live in an apartment and (c) don't have regular access to a hose and a good place to wash.

So, I'm thinking it would be easier to just take the car somewhere to be detailed.

Questions:

1. How much can I expect to pay?
2. How do I find a good detailer?

depends on how 'detailed' you want it. A simple wash/wax/clean should probably be ~80-150 depending on how things are in your area. If you're talking about shampooing carpets, clay bar'ing the paint, polishing/buffing/waxing the paint... 250+

i agree with ball park guess on just the wash/wax but the full deal with clay/polish ect not even close your talking about 8-10hrs minimum of work to do all that i get a hook up that runs me 200 from a Porsche dealership where i know a guy that does high end cars he normally charges $500

im in Virginia things are not expensive here like other cities/states

well, you can go from 250 to upwards of 10k on a detail, hence why I said "and up". It depends on the level of quality, how well known they are, etc. also location, but yeah, you can spend a ton

Alright, thanks for the tips on price. More importantly, how do I find a good detailer?

I feel it would be very dangerous for your spiritual life to continue in this pursuit. As they say, the Devil is in the details!

(Sorry, couldn't resist . )
