| Anyone using an EBow I was watching a video with Don Moen leading worship. I happened to notice that the electric guitarist was using an EBow for a bowed cello type sustain. Anyone out here using one? If so, what are your impressions?

| I use mine quite a bit, probably every week. And I do the same things with it as you saw on that video, or what you hear guys like Daniel Carson or Mark Lee use it for. It's a fun effect to have at your disposal. |

| Yep. I've been the lead guitarist on a couple of worship teams for most of the last 6 years, and I bought about a year into that. One of the best purchases I've ever made, it comes in handy on a lot of very slow and quiet songs especially. It's a very versatile tool, and its sound changes dramatically based on how you EQ it, what kind of OD/DS you use, and what kind of ambience/reverb/delay you tack on. I will say this, it takes a while to master well though. Getting the feel of how your fretting hand has to move, how the volume changes as you move between pickups, and how to switch strings cleanly take a lot of practice. I felt like I took me about 40 hours of playing time to really get it down comfortably. When you're not comfortable with it, you get a lot of awkward string squeaks and unwanted clinking as you switch strings. Don't let that turn you away though, it's an amazing tool, and totally worth every penny I've spent on it!

| i have had one for a few years. have only used it a few times. it's a uniqe effect can do more than just a bow like-sustain. i like it just don't use it that often. it's actually still in the box with some stickers, manual and a mini-cd-rom it came with and looks like it's never been used before. it has a switch for normal or extra harmonic range (higher pitch a couple octaves up).

| Agreed. It takes quite a while to master using it (and I doubt I've mastered it yet). It's also fun to throw the wah or the pog with a .8 delay on top of it. |

Maybe a good thing, I might not be willing to let it go afterwards...

| I don't think I could ever get used to one. I tried one and felt like I was controlling some sort of spaceship rather than playing guitar. |

It's too cool and useful when I do decide it's appropriate. Speaking of which, I seem to have misplaced mine, I don't like that at all.... Hopefully it's sitting at church somewhere...

I leave there accidentally on a semi-regular basis, and nothing ever seems to dissapear, so here's to hoping! I left my entire pedalrig there this week too, so I'm glad for a building its safe to leave stuff in!
