| New Coldplay Single! This sounds like nothing I have ever heard. It also confirms my suspicions--Coldplay is officially my favorite band ever! Makes me want to throw U2 out the window... YouTube - Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Official)

| Sounds like nothing you've ever heard?
It sounds like half of the stuff being sold in the CCM market to me. |

I'm not a fan of the wall of digital sound approach to music at all.

Other than the synth, everything else in the song is actual instruments. (Drums, guitar, vocals, bass, ect.)
Also, to all they key players out there, I don't mean that the synth isn't a real instrument |

Not a single instrument on that track went through fewer than a dozen digital post-processors. This is what actual instruments (and voices) sound like. Or this.

And I'm quite sure I know what instruments and voices sound like, thank you.
Plus, I've heard this song played live, and it sounds exactly the same. |

When Coldplay starts performing in cathedrals, I'll cut them some slack.
I'm not trying to offer my viewpoint as superior, just to offer it.
That Coldplay track has basically no whitespace. It's just constant noise. I can only stand that in very short doses, and only when it's the climax of a build-up that makes it work.

| I'm no fan of coldplay, honestly have never heard of them up until Driscoll's post on Facebook and this subsequent thread. but sweet mercy, listening to that song was like a watching a Michael Bay movie - a wanton orgy of digital excess that left my brain overloaded. |

| Yeah, we just have different tastes that all, haha
I think the constant noise of the track is brilliant .
It brings about sensory overload as a secondary means of expression; not just music coupled with words that have meaning, but words and music that have obvious, and often subliminal meaning.
This song goes deep |
