Our youth group had a big yard sale at church to help raise funds for their summer missions trip.
I usually scope out the sale just to see what cool diamonds in the rough there might be that I can't live without.
Well, someone brought in a pile of old 45rpm records.
*Do any of you even know what 45s are?*
My wife and I picked through them and got the following:
Stevie Wonder "Higher Ground" - B side "Too High"
Kool and the Gang "Jungle Boogie" B side "North East South West"
Alan O'Day "Undercover Angel" B side "Just You"
Cliff Richard "Devil Woman" B side "Love On"
Dionne Warwick and the Spinners "Then Came You" B side "Just as Long as We Have Love"
Three Dog Night "Joy to the World" B side "I Can Hear You Calling"
And a few others, each of them being some kind of classic rock or R&B AM-radio classic and all of them playable, as I've already given them a spin on my Denon turntable.
Price: $.25 each. That's probably a little under what they cost when new.
No auto-tune, no drum machines and very little synths at all. Just good musicians and singers playing decent pop music.
