Masters

Anyone following the Masters this year? Some pretty great stories with the young Rory McIlroy shooting two good rounds to lead after two days, savvy veteran Fred Couples in the running, a ridiculous 8-under second round from Jason Day, and Tiger Woods picking up 9 birdies in his second round to put himself in contention.

I've been following it a little. I talked to my dad (huge golf guy, he's retired and takes golf classes at the local community college for fun) about it this afternoon and he complained about ESPN's constant jocking of Tiger Woods. He said he'd like to see more coverage of the young guys (McIlroy and Fowler were in the same group today I guess) and less coverage of the drama that is Tiger Wood.

I'm not following any of it other than to say that I know a handful of people that were going to either multiple days or single days of it.

What an incredible final day! McIlroy collapsed completely and the lead changed hands almost constantly. Tiger made a great run and finished at 10-under, but it was all about Charl Schwartzel, who birdied his final four holes to pass Jason Day and Adam Scott for the green jacket. Absolutely incredible.

I only follow golf occasionally. (the majors mostly) I loved the final round however and the way Charl finished. I also was completely impressed with Rory's ability to put into prespective, his 'collapse', in such a humble, and very mature way. I shouldn't say 'for his age' but, he is really someone that young golfers could emulate, and I love the way he plays. I love the fact that he gets up to his shot, and takes it, without constantly adjusting his stance/shot/club grip. Slow golf is hard to watch, but players like McIlroy could certainly help the game.

I also agree with theSteve's dad, constantly pimping Tiger Woods makes me root for other golfers even more.
