Laptop Shopping

So I'm laptop shopping, and I could use some opinions.
I've more or less narrowed it down to these two laptops
Buy the Asus G72GX RBBX05 Refurbished Notebook PC at TigerDirect.ca
and
Buy the ASUS A52F-XT22 15.6 Laptop Computer at TigerDirect.ca

Thoughts?
Any other suggestions would be cool too, My budget pretty much tops out at ~$700-750, and I'm looking for my primary computer here, I'll likely game on it some, although probably not really hardcore intensive stuff(but then again, more power i have is always handy if i ever change my mind), and I'm wanting at least a 15" screen. Also needs to be from a Canadian retailer, as i cant afford duties...

At first glance the second one strikes me as a much better deal, but it doesn't have a separate graphics card. Not sure how that will affect gaming. I've been looking at this myself, with the new Sandy Bridge i3.

I would get the A52F-XT22. The Intel Core i5 processor is WAY better than the core 2 duo.

In my completely honest opinion, you'd be wasting your money getting the core 2 duo. It's rather outdated and doesn't run a lot of things very well. Programs are becoming larger, heavier, more resource-demanding, and given the option between a Core 2 Duo and an Intel i5, I'd go with the Intel i5.

Buuut, that's just me.

The dell is good too (just saw it) but I'd steer away from dell. I've had a lot of laptop customers for computer service that were dell owners.

And I've had nothing but great experiences with Dell.
YMMV.

i would have to agree. you will for sure get a smooth, fast laptop experience with windows 7 with a i5 even though it has less memory than the core 2 duo.

Honestly, there's no "average" need for more than 4GB RAM anyway. I had 3GB in my current laptop for almost a year and never ran out of memory. Although, I upgraded to 4GB last week so I could take full advantage of my 64-bit processor.
On that note, RAM is cheap to upgrade. Averaging $20/gb, it's not that bad of an idea to get less at the beginning and upgrade later if you feel you need it.

The reason i was looking at the core2duo wasn't the ram, it was the dedicated vid card.
However, the dell has optimus with its dedicated card, so thats pretty nice to have.
