Those are beautiful pictures! I need to go out West!

...Actually, I'll see some of those places in August, won't I?

BRING IT ON!

MtlFest 2.0 was amazing. Thanks to all who made it happen! It included:

Grilled burgers, good beer, and good friends sitting around a campfire talking and singing until late into the evening;

A short trip to see the Grant Tree and the hiking the Grant loop trail, a hike up to Panoramic Point to see the Great Western Divide, Kings Canyon, Boyden Cavern (the cave option), Grizzly Falls, spaghetti, Apples to Apples, Trivial Pursuit, and more music;

Sequoia Park, the General Sherman Tree, the Congress Trail, a climb to the top of Moro Rock, 6 bears, snow in July, and roasted hotdogs over the campfire, and of course more music;

Hume Lake and a walk around the village;

Hollywood - the Walk of Fame, Lucky Devils, Graumen's Chinese Theater, the Capitol Records building, the Whiskey-a-Go-Go, La Jolla beach, then finally dinner with thesteve and family.

Just a few of my favorite moments:

The campfire, with Rainer Jon on guitar, picking out the songs that Lee randomly mentioned. He is sooo talented.

Chrysostom's great song and bleeding fingers from his hardcore guitar playing

Robin's reaction to seeing the bear cubs

Lee's expression while looking out over the Great Divide

Art's triumph over Moro Rock

What were your favorite moments?

My favorite moments... Hmm.

Realizing that my bed (inside of a tent) was an actual bed. With a box spring and mattress and all.

Campfire. Always good. Especially with the guitar.

Lee's exclamations and John laughing as I took corners quite fast on the way down from Panoramic Point.

Quiet mornings on the porch.

Food. It was all SO good.

Getting to know Lee and Robin.

Getting to know John and Kelly.

Perfect Apples to Apples answers, of which I had to pick among three.

Seeing the wonder of people who had not seen what we saw.

Conquering Moro Rock. STEVE HOLT!

I am still processing things. I will have much more to say shortly...but the best thing was just sitting back and realizing that I have some truly great friends.

I totally didn't see the pictures tonight mrs_thesteve pointed them out tonight. I thought I was subbed, but I was wrong.

I honestly don't know that I can narrow everything down to a list. Seeing the Sierra Nevadas was absolutely breath-taking. Being in the company of good people with good food and good beer was incredible. Seeing some of the typical California things was neat as well. Robin saw Christopher Walken's handprint and I saw Rush's star.

I did enjoy our extended jams at the cabin. It's amazing how many songs you can cram into one simple chord progression.
