... why did I wait so long? MIM Strat, 8 years old, owned from new, a lot of fret wear. I got guitar tech Joe White (Aldershot, UK) to re-fret it in strainless steel (originals were pretty soft brass), he did a great job, and I can barely put the thing down in order to type this.
Seriously though folks, I just asked for the same profile as the unworn originals and took up the tech's recommendation that I got for stainless. I've never really understood the labels people put on fret size... are they jumbos? I don't think so. Using the 0.046" 6th string as a visual guide, maybe these are 0.050" high... does that help? Is it a cop-out to call them "medium"?
Thanks for the good wishes though... :-)

Reason: speling
Ok, that's it...That inspires me to finally get my beloved '72 Strat refretted..Should have taken her to the "doc" years ago..but since she is so old, I wanted to keep the neck original..but she is barely playable now. Thank you for inspiration to finally do it. :-)

When you start getting into medium jumbo frets, it takes a lot less pressure to form the notes than on standard medium frets. In fact, you can actually press too hard and take the note/chord out of tune. You may vary well have known this, but I an throwing it out there. Until I gota guitar with medium jumbos I didn't understand the difference. Now, I want mjs on everything.
