And mine appears to have been a special one of those run as it appears by several earmarks to actually be an endorsee's guitar. In fact, I kind of think I know who used to own it, but it is fairly unprovable.
Mine is one of those early eighties artists, and frankly, it mops the floor with most 2k Gibsons. But then again, it even has quilted mahogany, and sounds More LP than an LP and has a touch of santana sustain thrown in. And it might be a 2k guitar itself. The last one with the same appointments I have seen that sold in store sold for 2200. It is not a normal mass produced guitar.
In fact, I think it would be my number 1 if it weren't so dang heavy, and I didn't have the nicest playing LP custom I have ever seen. I like how it sounds a bit better than the LP Custom even, but the Custom has action that is not quite believable.
Ibanez's low end stuff is a cut above most other low end instruments, but when you get up into their pro sort of gear, you get a very comparable price to most makers.
