That story is troubling because of the sexual assault on top of the physical assault. Kudos to those who stepped in and stopped the violence and saved this woman. Of course there's also the anti Jewish element of the story that hopefully isn't an indicator of things to come.

And the violence spreads. Bahrain is an important strategic military strong hold for the US. If things go south there really bad it would certainly weaken our presence in the Gulf.

Do you have any support that this was because she was media? Women are often molested in such events.

Well, I posted a couple of links to articles about members of the media being attacked. So, they are the media, and they are being attacked. That's really all my statement was meant to communicate. I actually hoped someone would weigh in with some opinions...maybe someone has some other information. Given that she was at work, with her crew I highly doubt this was simply a random act. They repeatedly yelled something "Jew, Jew". So was the attack because she was media and these people think they're getting bad press, because they thought she was a Jew, or because of the network she works for she is associated with the US, or something else? Like I said, it doesn't seem random, so I suspect it is one of those three things.

i saw on the news last night a story about a journalist who was attacked. Right before the attack the crowd was shouting "Journalist! Journalist!"
