I'm going to go listen to some Porcupine Tree or Wes Montgomery or MuteMath or something besides Katy Perry.

That is a pretty sweet remix! I love when they remix songs like this. Gives em a nice new spin.
Kaskade is one of my fave DJ house producers at the moment, so I jump at all of his mixes, for better or worse.

I think the significance of pop music in terms of our current culture of sampling and remixing and going cross-genre is pretty staggering. Pop music can be raw material for art, instead of being simply its own entity. Think Andy Warhol, right?

That's a very good observation there, Rainer. It's like art is in itself becoming a tool. Like the Mona Lisa becoming a paintbrush or a swab of paint.

I'm bumping this thread.

Newbie here... love Katy Perry! And I am super fascinated by when she was Katy Hudson! Some of you here were members 10 years ago when she was doing her awesome thing, eh? Did she ever post here? I know she posted on those Alabaster Boards... anyone save or remember things she said??? hehehe

I love research and Katy Hudson has been the subject for a while now!! Any info you have or know where I could extend my search... LEMME KNOW, please!!!!

Katy Perry has tired MJ for five #1 singles on one album... and AT LEAST has the sixth single at #10 (as it stands now on Billboard Hot 100)... and it'll climb a bit more, but will it hit #1?!
