| Bibles I believe that the correct Bible to use is the KJV and was wondering what intellectual evidence others use to authenticate the Bible that they use.
Please only enter evidence and not just ramblings about your Bible. Thank you and God Bless |

| Oh, and I don't use the KJV. The KJV uses 6 total manuscripts, none earlier than Jerome....NASB and NIV use 25,000 manuscriptus (plus the ones that the KJV uses) and the earliest one, I believe, is approx. 125 AD or so. Just a little more accurate.

| I use a new Bible called "God's Word." It was translated by a group of Bible scholars, with English language experts also involved (so it's grammatically correct). It's an accurate translation of the Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew manuscripts. It's easy to read (I think it's like a fourth grade reading level or something) and it's not printed in two columns like a lot of Bibles (that's just something that I like). It's awesome, check it out: www.godsword.org |

| Phil, can you add another vote to Greek and Hebrew for me? I voted NASB, but I would have also voted Gr. and Heb.

| Guys, please don't volunteer the moderators for things like this in the future. Thanks.
I'm curious as to why you think the KJV Bible is the "correct" Bible to use, considering all scholastic evidence points away from using the KJV.

| Evidence that the KJV is not the best translation:
- Only 5 or 6 texts were used. All of them were relatively recent, many of the old manuscripts we have now were not available in 1611.
- Erasmus compiled the D.E. (the main text used to translate the KJV/NKJV) in a hurried state to get it to the printing press before his competitors, and in many ways neglected scholarship for expediency.
- The NASB (the translation I prefer) was compiled by a large group of scholars, from much more accurate original texts, and with much less bias involved. It is one of the most literal translations available--far more accurate than the KJV.

| I mainly use NASB now and second to that is the NIV. NASB is the most literal translation without using an interlinear bible, it was translated with more MSS, and had about 50 translaters working on the project. The NIV I use for it's readability, it also was translated with about as many MSS as NASB and had over 100 translaters on the project. |
