This is a response that I have been observing and noting for a little while now. Working in a service-oriented job, I find people's reactions to their own mistakes incredibly fascinating. While they are obviously embarrassed about being wrong, or doing something idiotic, their first reaction will be to blame me, or accuse me of intentionally wronging them in some way. And without fail, what they come up with is complete nonsense.
I spend a lot of time wondering where this reaction came from. At what point did it become unacceptable to say "my bad"?
