The Dark Knight Rises

Might as well get this going now that there's some casting news:

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and Tom Hardy as Bane.

Robin! Hand me the impatience-repelling Bat-Spray!

I'm not really familiar with Tom Hardy, but I'm really disappointed in the Anne Hathaway casting. I just don't see it at all.

I can totally see her do feline. I was annoyed at first, too, but I think that's just because she's one of those stars. Like casting George Clooney as Batman. But I really think she can do it.

I guess I just haven't seen her do anything close to it in any other films that I've seen her in. Also, I just really wanted to see Rosario Dawson in the role.

The Dark Knight Rises

Christopher Nolan's third and final Batman film. Before today, we knew that Nolan wanted to go with a lesser known villain than The Riddler and The Penguin, both denied by Nolan himself as possibilities. Then we found out that Tom Hardy (best known as Eames from Inception) had been cast, and many thought he might play a cop at odds with Commissioner Gordon instead of a "villain" per se (I can't remember the name of said police officer).

I was actually hoping for Bane as the main villain, and a story similar to "Knightfall" story-arc, ending with a logical end to Batman's career in the form of retirement or someone else wearing the cape. (link to my hopes)

Well, we're getting the first part. Hardy is playing Bane, and Anne Hathaway is playing Selina Kyle aka Catwoman.
‘Dark Knight Rises’: Anne Hathaway will be Catwoman, Tom Hardy is Bane [Updated] | Hero Complex – Los Angeles Times

I've honestly only seen Hardy in Inception, but I don't really see Hathaway as Catwoman. Of course, I would have said the same thing about Ledger's Joker, and it was a surprise and delight. Here's hoping we get that again.

(I searched for "Knight" and found nothing)

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal".

I honestly think Anne Hathaway is a very interesting choice for the role, based on what I know about the character.

All I can say is that I hope I enjoy this as much as I did Batman Begins and more than I did The Dark Knight.

No, Batman Returns, Burton's second Batman, had Catwoman.

What about the guy at the end of the dark night, the guy that was like two-face or something? Does he fit in at all?

Ha, my fiancee also forgot that Two-Face died at the end of The Dark Knight. Actually, she forgot about the entire Two-Face kidnapping Gordon's family part.
I'm a little surprised by Hathaway's casting, but considering the performance Nolan got from Heath Ledger, I'm willing to go with it.

Did Two-Face die? I thought it was kind of ambiguous.

It was sort of ambiguous in the film, but IIRC Nolan said in an interview that Two-Face is definitely dead.
