Ra's al Ghul was such a boring and self righteous villain. He never did anything that made me fear that he would pull anything off. Scarecrow was interesting, but at the end of the day he was also not that threatening to Batman.
The Dark Knight actually delivered a villain to be feared. In the opening scene The Joker successfully robs a bank, kills the manager and orchestrates to have all the other robbers killed as well. So immediately we know that The Joker is a man to be feared. And that's just one small example of crazy stuff that he does. TDK also put Batman in a scene where we were completely unsure of how he would react with the Harvey/Rachel possible death. And then they killed off the love interest!!! TDK suffers from major pacing issues, but when compared to the rather emotionless Batman Begins I think TDK is still much better. | The emotion of Batman begins came from the hero's journey not the on-going threat of the villain. We know who Batman is, but unlike Superman and Spiderman, his origin hasn't really been told in mainstream media. So no the villain wasn't as prominent, but that's because it was primarily the story of him becoming Batman. The villains were just steps along the way. |

| The first six minutes is attached to the IMAX showings of Mission Impossible 4. ...which I happened to see earlier today. It was pretty cool. |

| Based on the six minutes you saw, plus the 2 minute trailer, what's the over/under on Bruce Wayne dying in this one? I read an article on the theory that seemed interesting, and after watching the 2 minute trailer seemed fairly likely. |

| well as the series concludes with this one, I'd not bet against the death of Bruce Wayne. might make for a better ending than the cheesy "he lived happily ever after fighting crime" ending we get from every other super hero movie. |

Here's the article: I can't recall what sort of language is in it, so there might be some choice foul language... http://www.cracked.com/blog/advanced...l-bruce-wayne/ |

Based off the trailer,it appears they're pretty clearly doing a version of Knightfall. If you're read interviews with Chris Nolan about how much time has passed between the films, there could be some interesting takes on how things unfold.
I don't feel a vibe that he's going to die. |

| Before they announced Bane I was really hoping for Knightfall, and that poster with Batman's mask/helmet seems to indicate it'll happen. I'm not sure I want Wayne to die, but the "back breaker" would be AWESOME.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |

| That American Football scene in the trailer looked corny. Something out of a disaster b-film.

| Me neither. I'm sure, as any Batman fan, that he'll simply be left paralyzed but will manage to find the will to retain his true identity as Batman. Thus, the Dark Knight rises from his downfall, kinda like what Alfred said in Batman Begins.
" Why do we fall, sir? So we may find a way to pick ourselves back up."
BTW, it's very possible they may stay true by having Bane break the Batman, or they may pull the stunt by having Batman escape Banes clutches somehow before he could pull the final blow, like what was done in that Batman: TAS episode 'Bane.'

| Are you kidding? That was amazing. The fact that the sole football player, carrying the football, managed to make it all the way through the explosion while running was really eye-popping.
If I really wanted something out of a disaster B-film, I would be watching Battlefield Earth. :P

I want to say something like that happened in 2012 but can't remember. Also, idk where you get "disaster movie" from Battlefield Earth (which is sci-fi).
Hopefully it was because it was a bootleg, but I'm not liking Bane's voice after seeing the prologue. The Joker's voice was perfect, and Liam Neeson is Liam Neeson, but Bane sounds.....like a guy with something over his face. Not quite right for the character imo.

I saw the prologue in the IMAX and it is definitely hard to understand his voice. I'm not sure what the solution is if they want it to be realistic, but it does not seem like a good idea to release a movie where the main villain is very difficult to understand.
Apparently these critiques have made their way to Nolan and he's still not planning on making significant adjustments. It appears we're likely to have muffled Bane vocals. |
