The reason, IIRC, that these genres have their own subforums is because they aren't easily lumped in as Christian or secular due to the overwhelming lack of lyrics in a majority of the music, or at least a lack of English lyrics.

That being said, it seems like the real solution isn't to create more forums, but to get rid of this single forum.

Indeed. If that is a significant issue, then we could just eliminate the "Classical, Jazz & World" forums, or we could go ahead and create the "Country/Bluegrass", "Folk", "Pop", "Classic Rock", "Hip Hop", "Modern Rock/Alternative", "Metal", "Punk", "Dance/Electronic", "R&B", "A Capella/Choral", "Musical Theater", "Experimental", "Ambient", "Soundtrack", and tens of other forums at the very least. With an "Miscellaneous Music" forum in there for good measure.

There is at the very least a lot more talk about rock and pop music in the Secular Music forum than Country Music.

Jon,

If I wanted to create a thread on say...Mumford and Sons, should it go into Folk, Rock or Country/Bluegrass?

But they mention God... (in fact, Mumford's mom is head of Vineyard Churches UK)

Clearly they should go in Christian Music.

I think they should go in the Underwater Knife Fighting Forum.

It's not going to happen. If anything, world/jazz/classical could almost be contracted into the other forums. We are not exactly looking to add more forums and spread the traffic out more.
