how about this thing! this beat out ANY Gibson Ive ever played.
Ibanez 2395 - sold it to a guy in California who absolutely loves it

Looks like a nice 335 w/ a tone selector copy. I bet Ibanez got sued over that one.

Another alternative is the ES-333. Less expensive sibling to the 335. Satin finish, access cover on the back, and 490r/498t pu instead of 57 classics. They are no longer in production have been in the $800-1200. There are some good reviews on them on the Les Paul Forum.
