How do you layer your SBN overdrives?

The question is pretty simple, I'm just curious about how y'all use your Screamin' Eagles, Lil' Eagles and BDABs.

I'm definitely going to be getting my first BDAB (and either another BDAB or something in the Eagle category) coming up soon and I'm trying to think of how exactly I'll use them and how my pedal will need to change. Right now I use a Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde and a Screamin' Eagle. I keep a little O/D from the J&H always on to warm up the amp's tone, and I only use the distortion side when I need something heavier in the alternative rock band I'm playing with. I use the Screamin' Eagle as a lead boost, but honestly I'm a bigger fan of it's tone than the J&H and I want to use it more.

I'm thinking the BDAB will replace the overdrive on the J&H and I could either use the Screamin' Eagle as an overdrive with more gain and perhaps a Lil' Eagle on top of that for the boost or another BDAB for the boost. I'm undecided, which is mainly why I want to hear about your rig.

I usually keep my tube amp turned up about half to three quarters of the way up live, I don't dime it. And it's a Fender with a lot of headroom so it definitely needs help breaking up. I play with my Strat most of the time, so I don't have humbuckers for that either. I actually like the single coils a little better because they're nice and clear and don't get muddy as easily.

Well, any input from those of you who are SBN fans would be much appreciated.

At the moment my main tones are like this:

I put the BDAB first in the chain. Next is the Fulldrive II clone, then after that is my Dano TOD (which is soon to be replaced by a lil' eagle). I use the fulldrive II as my always on slightly overdrive sound (I mainly play worship stuff, so this is my rhythm tone). When I want more saturation for the slightly heavier parts or leads that I want to sustain more but not be louder, I juice the FD2 with the BDAB. It brings the volume up just ever so slightly and gives it more saturation. When I want to actually be louder AND add more saturation, I turn on the TOD that is after the FD2. I use this for the louder leads/solos. I also have the Dirty Little Secret and big muff clone in there, but I don't usually use those for worship.

But...

I have another BDAB on the way as well as the lil' eagle, so i'm going to be re-working this whole thing.

I haven't thought through it much, so this is just my first thought on how I'll do it:
The order will go BDAB-->FD2-->Lil' Eagle-->BDAB. I will use the first BDAB as an always-on pedal as I like what it does with my sound in general. I will use the Lil' Eagle as my main always-on over drive, as I'm sure I'll like it more than the FD2. When I want more saturation, I'll juice it with the FD2 which should add solely more drive, not more volume. When I want to be entirely louder, I'll use the second BDAB to bring it all up.

That is just my first time thinking through this, but I think I like it. I'm getting myself really excited now

Really stupid question...But what power supply do you use with a BDAB?

My BDAB is just about at unity gain and before my modified lil Eagle on the combo that I had Eric make. The BDAB doesn't really add ANY gain for me...just clarity. The two can be used independently also so that I can use the boost ALL the time.

I just use a Visual Sounds 1spot, although I hope to go with a brick of some sort in the future.

Hmm, everyone seems to run theirs differently. My BDAB definitely provides some gain, I run it between 9 and 10 oclock, but it's an always on for me. Provides clarity and thickens up my tone. The only time I don't use it is when I'm using more of a high gain sound, which doesn't happen often. When I really push both sides of my J&H, I tend to turn the BDAB off, otherwise the signal seems to get kinda flabby and muddy. Not sure why, I think it's an amp problem though...

Most of my rig, including my BDAB, is run off a regulated 200mA 9V Ibanez adapter. The BDAB pulls about 5ma, according to the man himself...

I usually have my BDAB always on running into an amp that's on the edge of break up. Then if I need some additional gain, I kick on the .22 (the OD in the Trinity). I'm gonna grab another BDAB so I'll probably alter this some.

When I'm not playing with my regular amp, I leave the .22 on with just a touch of dirt. Then kick on the BDAB when I need something more.

Same deal pretty much with sometimes slamming another bdab at the end of the chain into the amp's front end.

BDAB at very low gain > .22 at fairly low gain > lil eagle at fairly low gain > SBN RAT at low gain

Each pedal gradually adds more gain as I switch it on. Once all four are on it's a pretty vicious high gain sound.

You have an SBN RAT? Awesome. I have a vintage RAT. It's currently not on my pedal board, but that may change soon.

Well, I think I'm going to go for two BDABs and have them set up similar to the way jamforchrist123 plan's on using his. And for blues it'll work great too. I'll just keep one on and use the other as a boost.

So, Eric (SBN), how do you use your SBNi?
