| Please stop posting this. CGR's rules forbid cross-posting. The linked site promotes misinterpretation of Scripture. And conspiring to delude people about Scripture for monetary gain is not funny even if it's presented as a joke.

| Blah. No one will know the day, or the hour. So the fact that someone predicted the day.... means that by default, they are wrong.
Logic, for the win. |

| Sorry for the cross post, but I was unable to delete the original thread from the Theology forum.

| can't really find any info about any of the people involved, but I haven't done too much digging.
Their method to explain away 'no one knows the day or the hour' is unbelievably weak.
I'm actually concerned about the harm these idiots do when they buy billboards around the world proclaiming judgement day when they cannot know. |

I first saw this as a bumper sticker on my way to work one day. Family Radio/Harold Camping has previously made an erroneous prediction with regards to Christ's return. His methodology is based on some supposed numerical Biblical code and there have been other false teachers who have used some form of numerology to support their own claims regarding prophesy and other so-called new revelations that are claimed to be hidden in God's word. I guess the fact that Jesus himself didn't know when the rapture would occur is but an inconsequential footnote in the minds of Camping and others that follow this train of thought.
P.S. - I have replaced the link in my original post with a news story from the SF Gate.

| Dangit! I was hoping I'd at least be married by judgment day. Oh well. Guess I could try to find, propose to, and marry a girl in time. I hate deadlines! |

i wonder if mr. camping remembers that if a prophet made even one mistake or one false prophecy, he was stoned to death. i wonder what he thinks of that. |
