With my Squier, I KNOW I'll never get my money out of it, so I am at the ready with a new mod. But at this point, I LOVE that guitar so it's not going anywhere. I will admit, there are better playing guitars out there, but...

Gotta love differing viewpoints.
The thing is, I'd never think of reselling my guitar. It'll be a cold, sad day if I ever lose it...

Anyway, @gopats1479 I think the more important factor here is which one do you like better? Ignore the cost factor for a moment, figure out which one jives with you more, and then figure out how you can finance it after you know exactly what you want. Did you play the guitars? My personal favorite axes are the American Standards. If you're investing in a guitar, invest in one that is exactly what you want.

Thanks. I'm planning on going to the store this week. I'll let you guys know what I like.

Props on getting some good tones from the Spider. I personally didn't mind them, but I know a lot of people that do.
Here's what I did IIRC:
Channel A (Marshall, with some more grit)
Metal Green, drive around 11:30, default T and B settings, mid around noon
Channel B (Voxish, kinda)
Metal Green, drive around 11:30, default T and B settings, mid 7:00
Channel C (REALLY out there...)
Metal Green, drive around 1:00, default T and B settings, mid 1:00
Channel D (Swiffer clean)
Metal Green, drive around 8:00, default T and B settings, mid 7:00

Play with these and see how you like them. I'll probably add some T to the Vox and some T to the clean cuz it's like a clean Marshall. I've only tried these with my ARX, not with a Strat.
