| MY KINDLE BROKE TODAY.
Don't know how it happened. I went to turn it on and the screen is destroy'd. Looks like it was struck with a pointy object. |

| Oh no, maybe someone shot at you and the Kindle blocked it for you, sacrificing itself in the process...

Lee where did you look at the Kindle Fire? I thought they were only sold online at Amazon? | A guy at church has one. He bought it at Target.
I'm trying to convince myself that I don't need the Fire and just stick with a regular Kindle 3G.

| My Replacement Kindle arrived yesterday: A Kindle Touch with an actual official Kindle cover (wine purple). I got a cheap cover for my old Kindle (it was a Kindle 2, with the keyboard), and it actually caused the Kindle to malfunction because of the way it attached to the little attachment thingies on the side, so I threw it away. Maybe if I had gotten an official Kindle cover for it, it would have been covered when whatever it was broke it.
Anyway, I'm much satisfied with the upgrade/replacement. It's awesome.
One downside: The Text-To-Speech algorithms aren't quite as good as they used to be. They can pronounce words that the old one couldn't, but the pacing is poorer.
MAJOR upsides: The contrast is SO much better, and the pages turn MUCH faster due to the fact that you can turn off the feature where it refreshes the whole screen with every page turn. |

| My screen broke as well (about 6 months ago), but I was able to warranty it. No problems with the new one. I can't possibly overstate how useful it was while I was in South-East Asia. Having free 3G everywhere was so helpful. |

| Mine was over 2 years old, maybe almost 3 years - no way to warranty that |

| I bought a basic Kindle last week.
I crunched the numbers last week. I figured with a $30 gift card with the purchase of the $79 dollar one made it roughly $50. If I use the Kindle Lending Library every month for a book that costs on average $5, it has paid for itself in the first year of use.
Also, I feel much more comfortable taking this to the beach in a couple of weeks than I do the iPad.

| I bought a Kindle Fire in April. It has revolutionized my reading habits and some of my research.
I hate to admit it, because I was very anti-e-reader for a long time...

| Patrick and I each have a Nook Simple Touch, but now I have a Nexus 7 with the Kindle app and he wants to sell the nooks to get a Kindle instead. Barnes and Noble has begun to kind of suck.
I love e-readers. |
