Angry Alone and Confused
I have recently moved to Tallahassee Florida from my small home town to attend grad school at FSU and I honestly don't know what to do. About two years ago I was in an auto accident caused by another driver (texting while driving) which ended in me breaking my back, nearly being killed, barely missing a wheelchair and being put on forearm crutches for life. Following getting hurt my church threw me out almost over night once they heard how seriously I was injured since they didn't see any use for a 21 year old physically disabled kid. With this in mind and due to the several negative reactions and immediate judgments of numerous "Christians" around the area I honestly have some personal issues with the whole church thing. I run into campus Christian groups all the time around campus but how can I trust another "Christian" group or what any of them say when the "Christians" that I thought of as family most of my life have basically been lying to me and just using me all of these years and stopped caring about me as soon as I was of no more physical use to them. I tried talking to the members and the leadership of the church which I was once very close to only to be rudely turned away and shunned like a leper. I am honestly just very confused and extremely angry about the whole situation and don't know what to do anymore.

The first thing is to realize that there are evil people everywhere. You can't live your life holding an evil that one person did to you against everyone else that you meet. I don't mean that you should forget but just because Tom did X doesn't mean that you should punish Jerry for it. With that in mind, don't worry about whether or not they call their self a Christian. That is a distraction from the real issue. You need to look for friends who will care about you. You should be able to identify Christians by their love of their fellow man. Don't forget about the betrayal of your past friends. But you also don't need to let it make you bitter. Learn from it. Learn that words can be a lie. But actions will reveal a persons true nature.
