I'm pretty sure I could lead worship on any guitar I could get my grubby hands on, even some sort of dave mustain/dimebag darrell tribute guitar. It's just a tool, nothing more. | I have seen a few I would have a problem with... The one with a bunch of Pagan runes inlayed in it, or the one with obscenities on it or obscene graphics...
Short of those few, no problems.

You said: ‘those guitars are ugly’, but you are alone with your opinion.
Everybody said it’s beautiful until this very day, and I mean approx. 30 people.
Even guitar technicians said it’s beautiful and a high end guitar. One of them has worked for Kramer guitars, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, just to name a few. He was impressed with the quality of True Worshipper acoustic.
People told the quality is similar to Gibson Hummingbird and Epiphone master built (over $1000).
Also, the other silly remark about maple: the biggest names (Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, Dean) are using maple soundboard : quilt and flame maple, even spalted maple. It has a nice bright tone. Bass sounds depend more on the size of the body and sound hole and first of all: the strings. (A lotta 'myths' are out there regarding soundboard.)
Trying to spit on others or other’s guitars clearly shows your bad motives.
This guitar represents worship, as people express their adoration to God, as well as the Words of Jesus (John 4:23-24). So you didn’t just dishonored a guitar but God Himself and the work of the Holy Spirit.
Well, what you sow you’ll reap it : you’re going to be experiencing criticism and shame.
| wow that was un called for. we are just expressing our opinion if you don't like opinions then forums are the wrong place for you. Any way, I as well don't like the look of it but anyway... I appreciate your guy's opinion and advice but I found out I'm getting an acoustic for christmas from my fiancée
Its a washburn D10S with rosewood... I've read up on them and they seem to be very well thought of in their price range. Plus she only spent 200 dollars for it which I think is a good deal. Let me know what you guys think and I'll let you know what I think once I get it on Christmas.
So I'm probably going to get a bone saddle installed and I will be getting a pickup for it to play in church. I'm excited...

| You'll like the Washburn if you're into dreads. It's a good brand. It's a kind of a plain guitar so it won't be a distraction no matter where you play.
Pickups? Take a look at K&K's Pure Mini. You'll need an external preamp and it doesn't really modify your guitar other than a change to the end pin. |

I'll look into the other pickups. I was maybe thinking a fishman matrix pickup perhaps... what do you mean external preamp.... I'm not sure what that is or why I need it.

Fairly inexpensive and good sounding. I use them because I like only buying one preamp for multiple instruments. Dulcimer, accoustic guitar, octave mandolin, mandolin... can all use the same preamp.
The k & ks are passive. No Batteries or such. Passives really need a preamp to up the level. Most guitars with electronics use batteries and an internal preamp.

All I could think was, "What on earth is Washburn doing to market to that specific crowd?" |
