My new Telecaster design

I've been thinking about this for a long time and have finally gotten around to doing something. I glued the wood together the past two days and did the rest today. It will have a piezo pickup in the bridge. I'm undecided as to whether to put a neck pickup. The body is thicker than a standard tele but it's hollow so it's a lot lighter.

That is AWESOME. There is a guitar called a Charvel ATX that looks similar to my Charvel TX Custom... I'd be really interested in one like you're making (just without those holes in the top)

I'd put some type of regular pickup in there, if it were me. But no matter what your pickup system is, that's a sweet body style. I love your F-hole design. Very unique.

I agree, that F-hole design is cool! What color do you plan on using?

It will have a black burst around the edges and the front/back will be natural. I may put a light stain on it. Haven't decided yet. Then I'll relic it. That's what folks are asking for. That's my plan for now. It may change as I progress.

Finished her up today. Strung it up with D'Addario Jazz Light strings. The flat wound chromes 11 - 50. This thing sounds amazing to me. It is exactly what I had hoped it would be. It feels good to hold. It's light as a feather and it fits me. The sound is amazingly warm (mellow). However, I can make it scream a little if I want. I think it's going to be a keeper.

Top and bottom wood are poplar covering the sides (painted brown) of spruce. The pickguard is poplar too.
