I honored my parents wishes by going to church, not using profanity, not smoking/drinking, no sex before marriage, being polite and courtious, etc.
I didn't honor their wishes by going to medical school (what my mom wanted).

Come to think of it I have prospered from following all of my parents wishes that I did follow.
I am presently unemployed. I should have gone to medical school.
