O Come O Come Emmanuel

I want to do O Come O Come Emmanuel for my voice recital in December, and I know that Christmas songs get covered like nobody's business, so I'm looking for some really good versions that I can get inspiration from. Does anyone know of some really good versions of this song? I'm looking for some darker versions that are a little more on the rock side of things but could still be pulled off by just vocals and an acoustic or electric. (ie, no Theocracy. I can't even get close to hitting the notes he hits anyway ) Juicy guitar/vocal lines are especially appreciated. Can anyone help me out? Being an engineering student I barely have enough time to practice the thing much less spend a lot of time looking for/making a marvelous arrangement so any help is appreciated.

u2's "white as snow" borrows from the melody from O Come, O come Emmanuel.. you could borrow back from that.. there's quite a cool picked guitar part going through most of it.

For the carol itself, I like the Sixpence None the Richer version which has a nicel little reverby guitar lick between verses. Chasing Furies did quite a dark moody rock version on the first happy christmas album which is also cool, but mostly piano driven, although it has some loud guitar towards the end.

Sufjan Stevens has a pretty cool version. My band is actually playing a bunch of Sufjan Christmas songs for an upcoming service... It's pretty awesome...

Future Of Forestry has an excellent version of O Come O Come Emmanuel.

Noisetrade has some free mp3 downloads, and Nate Karnes' version is a great acoustic version of it.

Aaron Shust put out one that isn't my favorite but has a darker feel to it.

And of course if you can sing like a girl, Chasing Furies put out the best dark mood version out there.

Phil Keaggy does a great instrumental version--it might provide some inspiration any way--as the voice is an instrument of sorts.
