Hmmm...his band will sound more like Newsboys than Newsboys will.

What? That sounds awesome!

I just saw him and Phil Joel together (with Dave from Superchick?) on Saturday at WinterJam in Des Moines.
I was pretty impressed. They played Entertaining Angels, too.
...Oh, the good old days...

It really makes me wonder.

What you basically have is two different versions of Newsboys out on the road. I am curious as to whether Peter still benefits financially from the Tait line-up. Does he make money from them being on the road?

As I understand it, unless they have a fairly unusual thing set up (which, i suppose, wouldn't surprise me) then Peter would just get royalties from songs he wrote...if the Tait-lineup recorded a show and put it on a cd/dvd, then of course Peter would benefit. However Peter could very well still be at the top of Newsboys, Inc. I know for example there were quite a few guitars/amps/etc that were "his" but actually owned under NB inc.

I don't know if he is still a partner in Newsboys or not. I would have to assume that in some way he still has some legal rights with the name. They are signed to InPop aren't they? That's his record label.

Not that it really matters...I'm just curious. Something similar is going on with Petra right now. The "classic" line-up from 1985 is touring under the name Classic Petra and John Schlitt is touring with some guys under the name Petra.
