If you're ever a couple hours north of Nashville, in the Fort Knox area, give me a shout and you can try mine.

hey.... i have family in sevierville (well my GF does ) maybe the next time i'm out there i'll take you up on that. so what that's on the other side of the state it might worth it lol. anyway. how much of a DB boost does the BDAB offer and does it stay clean all the way up... I'd be interested hearing from SBN if he thinks it would be used well for the application I need.

so i still have some questions... would the ebtech line leveler work for my situation???
I took a quick look at that - it has one preset amount of signal attenuation; If it converts a +10 db signal to a -4db signal, then it attenuates the signal by 14db. If that amount of cut is exactly what you need, sure, it would work fine. The in-line volume control will attenuate the signal, but is infinitely variable, so you can adjust it to the amount of attenuation you need. It seems to me that you will need to adjust it to compensate for where you set the amp's volume control. It is also a lot cheaper.: D

If i went the route of using a booster to bring my signal up how would i know where to set the leveler and the booster to get unity gain?
You would have to use your ears - first listen with nothing in the loop, then set up the loop and adjust it to where it is approx. the same volume. Alternately, you could use a sound pressure level meter to compare the stuff-in-the-loop volume to the nothing-in-the-loop volume.

What kind of noise issues would i run into... some one also suggested a passive di box hooked up backwards would fix my problem... is this true?
Anything you add to the signal chain can add some noise, but unless you end up with a ground loop, I don't think it will add enough noise to be an issue. I don't see how a DI box is going to be useful.

The BDAB boost is going to be a clean boost; it won't distort unless you overload its input. You can PM Eric with your question about the max boost ( I have one in my Trinity), I would guess that its somewhere around +25 db or so.

Okay, so I'm bumping this to try and get some more help because I have yet to find what I need to get this job done. Here is where I stand... I have a little volume box that I can use that will bring down the signal to the level for my pedals to happily take it. It is variable and I will have good control over it. Where I am having trouble is finding a booster device that will then take my instrument level signal coming out of the pedal and bringing up to a line level for my amp's power section to take it. I'm told that to get the -10 to +4 conversion I need 34 decibals of boost. That is more than most any guitar booster out there so I started looking at recording and professional audio stuff. The problem here is that most of these devices like the radial line driver only has xlr outputs.... Can anyone help me find what I need. Mod's feel free to move this if I should have just started a new thread... thanks guys

At this juncture it might be wise to email Egnater about this if you haven't already.

I know the EHX LPB-1 has a ton of gain on tap, but I'm not exactly sure what the specific amount is.
