I hear quite a few people liked it. To each his own It gets absolutely the least play of any anberlin cd.

i thought it was a great cd but only great. their other albums were fantastic. I agree it gets the least play out of the 5. Miserabile Visu was an incredible song. but many of their weaker songs were on their -soft skeletons, younglife, blame me, and feel good drag (its a great song, but diehard anberlin fans would have rather heard a new song).

I liked them at Creation, but frankly the name should've changed after Take Me to Your Leader, it clearly wasn't the same band, and the style was a lot different. I don't dislike it, but newsboys before and after were vastly different.

I absolutely LOVE Burlap to Cashmere's "Anybody Out There" album, but the poppy radio friendly "Treasures in Heaven" and "Mansions" should've never been released with that album. In my itunes playlist, tracks 1-5 & 7-11 are all 4 & 5 star rated, 6 & 12 are 1 star.

That's a bit disingenuous given the large changes in both lineup and musical style over the Newsboys career prior to Take Me to Your Leader. The Newsboys are a band that has changed a lot over time and I don't see any issues in them keeping the name the same.

I Think I'm Safer on an Airplane by Copeland. The only song that ever gets skipped by them when it comes up in my shuffle.

As someone who owns (and listens to) ALL of the Newsboys' albums...I have to agree with Mr. Skeeter on this one. The band never had a stable line-up until after John James (a founding member) left. The most consistent line-up (Furler, Joel, Davis, Frankenstein & Phillips) put out four albums that encompassed a wide range of styles. As I have pointed out in other threads...there was only one original member of the band left from Step Up To The Microphone and on. The core group of the "new" Newsboys (Davis, Frankenstein & Phillips) have played on nearly every album since 1994's Going Public. Davis did leave for Devotion and Go but has been back with the band since 2009's In The Hands Of God. I actually think losing Phil Joel after Go is a bigger setback than losing Furler...but they have managed to adapt in the absence of both. I still think Born Again is the best album they've done in over ten years. Love Liberty Disco was the last Newsboys album that got a ton of airplay in my house until this new one came out.

Back to the intended topic. Petra put out an album several years ago (Double Take) where they redid some of their older songs in new "acoustic" arrangements and I thought that most of them were terrible.

mewithoutYou is also my favorite band, has been for a long time. However, i think the worst song for them is "Fig with a Bellyache"... *shudder* I cringe every time I hear that song. Oh trust me, I want to like it, I sincerely do..... BUT I cannot do it! Don't think less of me

I used to hate Butterfly kisses.

Then my wife and I had a little girl. Now I can't listen to it without getting all lame and emotional.

eh... only compared to the other stuff from that era, I actually got rid of all of their CDs from that era, they were just too painful to listen to anymore!.

^^^ can't argue... awful arrangement, hugely uninspired performance, IMO.
