The Walking Dead

Anybody catch the premiere of this on AMC?

It exceeded my expectations by a lot. It's like a drama that also has zombies. I have no knowledge about the source material (comic books) so I'm unsure of how closely it follows the story, but I've heard the term frame by frame remake thrown around. I'm tempted to read the comic books, but if the show is this good then I don't want to ruin the story for myself.

I love the comic and am really excited about this. I missed it, but my friends (comic nerds and normies alike) all really loved it.

I haven't read the graphic novel yet, but based on the premiere, I'll be watching this show. Even though it reminded me a bit too much of 28 Days Later, I'm giving it a chance to develop.

We have AMC on a free preview this month, and of course they show something that gets me hooked. I loved the premier. I'm trying to figure out if the zombie guy with the long hair and weird eyes who looked like Kevin Bacon was some kind of zombie leader. I only have a couple more weeks before my TV turns back into a pumpkin.

Watched it. Loved it. Now I can put it on my list of shows that I DVR but never have the time to watch. This list includes Rubicon, Breaking Bad and Modern Family.

I guess my zombie leader sighting (theory) was false, unless he reappears in the next episode. I didn't like this episode as much as the first. I still like it a lot, but I thought the 'love' scene was too graphic. I have become used to having the family friendly package on DishNet for the past 3 years. AMC is definitely not in that category.

I'm throughly enjoying it. Unfortunately my wife doesn't do zombie programs. So I'm having to watch it alone.

I've made it through episode 4...it can be a bit slow placed at times, but I'm loving it.

I think old 'not-so-lefty' Merle is going to find the note on the Charger.

The entire Walking Dead writing staff has been fired.

wow, just... wow...

while I confess I haven't seen episode 5 yet (I'm running behind) I've found this series to be the most fascinating and freshest series I've seen since Heroes Season One. there is so much to this - deep and rich and technical and otherwise - that I'm gripped. for AMC to just fire the writers is pure lunacy. look what happened to Heroes from Season One to Season Two - train wreck, which killed the momentum and ultimately the entire series. bad, bad, bad move. perhaps a zombie ate the executives' brains here or something.

and as a side note, I'd been so gripped with the STORYLINE that sometime towards the end of episode 4 I pretty much forgot that this was a Zombie series. the end of episode 4 brought this grim reality back in a drastic way. it takes a great story to grip you so completely.
