i'd rather have a built samurai than a 'jeep' liberty, or one of those 4 door wrangler mall crawler editions, or a cherokee, etc.

Indeed... and actually I'f almost consider a good samurai over a wrangler for 2 reasons.
1) it's different... you dont see 30 every day.
2) it's even smaller than a wrangler so it can fit in smaler trails and get's better mileage

have you ever seen the kind of crawling a good sam can do built properly? the mileage isn't as good as you'd think, since most of 'em get an engine swap as the first order of business. You're wheeling though, not trying to make daisies and puppies come out the exhaust
