I can say it isn't as bright as some other options, but having messed with the ones at Namm, it was much brighter than it appears to be in some of the pictures.

Personally, I like the added precision of my tuner for doing my intonation.

polytune is legit... I use the korg pitch black and couldnt be happier. pretty sure either of those two won't do you wrong.

On boss and brightness: The TU-3 added the ability to boost the LED brightness, however It's still the same size as TU-2. IIRC the sensitivity/accuracy may have been improved too, but I'm not sure on that.
