Gears of War 3

No thread yet, surprisingly.

The bad news: Originally set for a spring release, it's been pushed back to fall of next year.

The good news: There's a beta coming, and with all the new additions that have been announced, this looks like it'll almost be worth the delay.

Gears of War 3 Versus Multiplayer MEGA Hands-On Preview - Tonight, We TDM In Hell!

There's too much stuff to list here, so I'll just post what interests me most
- Four player co-op in campaign, with the addition of three new female characters (Samantha Byrne, Anya Stroud, and Bernadette Matak), one male (Jace Stratton), and the ability to swap weapons with teammates.
- Multiple new weapons, including the One-Shot (one-hit-kill sniper rifle, as you'd guess), a Pendulum-Era Lancer with a regular bayonet, a sawed off shotgun, a flame grenade, and the Digger Launcher.
- Revamped King of the Kill, Team Deathmatch (kills deplete a set pool of lives for each team), Capture the Leader (think Guardian meets Submission) and Beast mode, which is Horde in reverse. A preview of Beast shows you start playing as something like a Ticker or Wretch, eventually earning a Berserker if you do really well.

There's still going to be a ranking system, and hopefully there's no achievements for hitting an absurd rank again, cause then you're basically telling people to boost if they care about it.

I loved the original, and although #2's campaign wasn't quite as good, the additions there helped make up for it. Hopefully this wraps up the trilogy well.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal".

Haha, does the sawed-off have to be touching the guy in front of you to hit him?

Lol, in a sense, yes:

To balance its power though, the Sawed-Off can only hold one shot per clip; has really slow reload times; only carries less than a handful of bullets; and is only effective at ridiculously short distances. In truth, I found myself sticking with the Gnasher as per usual, although the veteran Epic players were all about the Sawed-Off... the fact that it can kill multiple targets at once if they’re close enough may have something to do with it. It’s a practice makes perfect scenario with the Sawed-Off; that much is clear.
