One of the things that keeps getting not mentioned with the Cavs on their losing streak right now is that they're starting at least two bench players. Having Williams and Varejao on the bench is really hurting them. I'm sure if it wasn't for injuries, this streak wouldn't have happened.

OK so we're down to the last few weeks of the season and March Madness (which got a whole lot less interesting for me today) will be over in a few weeks. So maybe we can start talking about the NBA now.

I've just got three things to say about the NBA:

I thoroughly enjoyed the recent 5 game losing streak the Heat went on. Honestly, they've had some big win streaks this year, and they've blown some teams out. In short, they've had moments beyond excellence. But when it's all said and done, I don't think they can beat good teams with any consistency so I think it will be a pretty short post season for them.

How about those S A Spurs? They're looking good and will almost certainly have home court advantage through out the playoffs.

The Houston Rockets are only 1.5 games out of 8th and 3 games out of 7th place in the west. Unbelievable. Unfortunately they don't have an easy end stretch here. I would so love to see them make the playoffs though.

I really wish the Blazers could finish out the Lakers. Twice in the last month they've had a lead going into the final minutes, and twice they've been unable to hold on.

I moved to the Portland area the year the Blazers won the championship in 77 (I think? Maybe 78?). Anyway, that was the beginning or a life time of being a Blazer fan. I was so happy and felt so liberated 5 years ago when we moved to Texas. I AM NO LONGER A FAN OF THE PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS!!!!!!!!!! Do you know they have the second longest playoff appearance streak in NBA history? Just 1 year short of tying the 76ers for the record. 21 years straight (1983-2003) they went to the post season. Not one single championship to show for it. I think they only made it past the Western Conference semi finales 3-4 times during that streak. I guess what I'm trying to say is somehow the Blazers always seem to be just slightly better than mediocre, but fall short of being really good.
