Apple Cinnomon Chicken

Anyone made this before? I determined I need to learn. Its my favorite dish at my favorite resturant, and I need to make it on my own instead of spending all that money going out to eat every time I get that hunger.

Can you describe what it looks and tastes like? Maybe even take a picture.

What is the ethnicity of the dish? What is the restaurant?

Its breaded chicken breast cut up with apples and this applely cinnamon sauce. We get it at Yenti's Villa, a local asian resturant with a lot of Japanese quisine.

Wow, that almost sounds like a desert that would be good for you. Is it sweet?

You could probably just find a baked apple slices recipe that looks good, reduce the sugar by say half, make em up, then cook a chicken breast in maybe just some soy sauce and black pepper, then mix it all together.

Sam, is it a sweet and sour sauce? I'm imagining something like orange chicken but with apple instead. If so, take a chunky applesauce recipe and add a couple tablespoons of vinegar and a small jar of pimentos.

Nope, its nothing like a sweet and sour sauce, the consistancy is the same, if not thicker, its derived from apple some how.

What you want to get is some Panko bread crumbs.

Butterfly your chicken breast, egg wash, then coat in a mixture of the bread crumbs and some salt and pepper. Pan fry in hot oil (but not quite smoking) coating the bottom of the pan. Drain on a rack and let rest.

For the sauce, peel the skin off and cut up one granny smith apple, add salt and pepper and maybe a half teaspoon of cinnamon (I'd say a good pinch, to taste), then cook til soft. The liquid should start coming out of the apples, and at this point you can add a couple tablespoons teriyaki sauce (or approximately equal parts good soy sauce and honey, with some garlic or garlic powder to taste), and reduce to the right consistency.

Serve with white rice.

I don't know exactly how it would turn out, or if the proportions of the ingredients are exactly right, but it seems like about the right recipe in my head. (i.e. if it doesn't turn out right, I'm sorry )
