| Miami Heat expectations So the NBA regular season will soon be upon us. I've heard the pundits speculating that the Heat could break the record for most wins in a season which is 72. I don't see that happening, but at any rate the expectations are high. 8 of their first 12 games are at home, so I'm wondering what ya'll think their record should be at the end of that period. If they drop 2-3 games have they not met expectations? In order to win 72 you have to be going about 9 games between losses I think. Are the Heat going to be that good? I think they'll have streaks where they win 10+ in a row, but I'm not sure they can sustain it. I think if they're 8-4 after that first 10 games it would be a big disappointment. That's no better than a lot of other teams have done over the years. |

| I think they will be good. I don't think they'll set a new best season record, and I don't think they're a shoe in for the NBA Finals.
It's easy to look at their numbers over the last few seasons and say that just the three of them should average 70 points a game, but usually one will be taking shots away from the others. If Lebron (or Wade) is taking 30 shots a game, it probably means the other isn't. |

| there is no way they are winning 72...that was the 95-96 bulls, and they played with each other for years and knew how each other played. i think they win ~60-65. in a couple of years though, if they put their egos away...they have a chance to break that record.

| Eh, I can see Dwayne Wade putting his "ego" away pretty easily. Chris Bosh more so too, Lebron might be a little more difficult but we'll see. If they live up to there word, which is that they all went there to win championships, I don't see it being an issue, but again if they don't they might not get a shot at a championship. Anyway, they haven't won anything yet and I'm not sure how good their supporting cast is going to be.

He doesn't have the history of calling for the big shot in crucial situations or dealing well with the pressure that comes with the double and triple team defense. I think he will be very comfortable in Dwyane Wade's shadow. He might be flashier on the court than Wade, but the Heat will remain Wade's team and I don't think James will have a problem with that. |

| the thing i really dont like about the 3 of them going to miami is it feels like neighborhood football when i was a kid. there were times when somehow all the really athletic kids somehow got on the same team. you knew they planned it that way so that they would win the game. inevitably the "captains" on the team would try to trade 2 non-athletic kids for one really good kid.
if just feels fixed to me.
i think this is the first time i am going to be rooting for the lakers to win it all (and that's only b/c i think they are the only ones that can test them talent for talent.

I'm just tired of hearing about it all, and really don't have a rooting interest in NBA basketball, but a part of me hopes they fail miserably because of all the hype preceding the season.
Not proud of that feeling, but that's just the way I feel. |

| I predict ESPN will hype them until everybody is sick of hearing about it.
