I know that the classic mistake in an argument is a comparison to the Nazi's. Indeed one of john Stewart's posters is "I disagree with your politics but I'm pretty sure you aren't Hitler". Still, in reading this I could not help but think of our own (correct) condemnation of exactly these types of expiments by the Nazis.

In short: the US government deliberately infected hundreds with STDs (mostly syphilis) and then penicilin was used to "see if it would cure it".

This involved the same researcher who, 20 years later, deliberately did not treat a large group of Americans with syphilis in order to "study the effects of syphilis on the black man".

So in a way, not surprising that human beings do that kind of thing.

I'm not American so it wasn't my government, but the Canadian government over the years has had its own share of bad decisions and sinful actions.
So I won't be picking on anybody.
