There are two kinds of people in life: those I can beat at Settlers every time and those I can never beat at Settlers.

I once played a game where 3 was rolled approximately 40% of the time. I was on a 3. It was great.

When I play seafarers I am more concerned about discovering new land than about winning.

That's what makes the game so great! During the men's retreat, I built one road, no settlements, upgraded both my settlements to cities, had at least 16 development cards, and got stuck at 9 points! That was one weird game.

That's what i love about Settlers, it's so random! Except there's one guy I know that wins every time he plays!

Settlers is fun, but it is sort of an 'entry game' in the way that it sucks you in to the whole community of board gaming, where nobody really plays it because there are so many better games.
I still enjoy a good game of Settlers, but I have more fun playing games like Alhambra, Carcassone, Smallworld, etc. Boat loads of fun.!
