Looking for Bass Bud's

Hey Everybody! New guy here (first post)
I'm in the Cincinnati, Northern KY area. I'm a newbie Bass player, but already in our church orchestra. I've already had a not so good experience with a supposed Bass Instructor, so I'm using all my resources and teaching myself. I could use a buddy to jam with, learn from/with, bounce ideas off of, share experience with ("Try this..."), etc.
Warning, I'm an old guy (53) but very young at heart and soul.
I focus mostly on any kind of P&W, Easy Listening, gentle rock, etc. I'm willing to learn just about anything that is fun, sounds good and will make me a real Bass player ("Good"? Well, hopefully, maybe one day,,,)

First off, Welcome to CGR!
Secondly, Congratulations on picking up the bass!

Have you checked out any of the Groovin for Heaven bass videos by Norm Stockton? When I was first learning, man, I was watching those vids like crazy.

I'm going to ponder on some really good advice - haha- and get back to you.

YOUTUBE.

I play along with youtube's for practice when I can't get together with someone else. Another good thing about youtube is that you can play it over and over again and it doesn't laugh at ya when you do something silly.

Edit: Or you could swing by my house and we'd jam together all weekend long.

Hi there! I'm a mature new bass player just like yourself! Have owned my bass for just over a year, and only started playing in the church band 4 months ago! Just keeping to the basics at the moment (root notes and 5ths) until I gain a little more knowledge and improve on my finger technique! I'm over in the UK so unable to pop round for a jamming session! Hope you're enjoying it as much as I am! - Regards Norman
