This weekend, I decided to try making focaccia from scratch. I fell in love with it when I was in high school, visiting a Macaroni Grill once. Dipping the bread in olive oil was an incredible experience for me. One problem, though, is that I think their focaccia is about 2000 calories per tiny loaf. Anyway, I used allrecipes and found a simple
recipe that I could use. I made the dough in the bread maker, then let it rise a second time in the pan, then we baked it.
One thing to note - we used about half white and half whole wheat flour.
The bread has been very tasty. There's about a serving and a half left - the loaf was quite big.
Anyway, it was a great experience. Next time, I think I'll add black pepper and maybe some extra salt.
