when i start to get in a rut I remind myself that I am playing as Worship for GOD. I pray for the skill that he has gave me and ask for him to help me grow even further. We are after all suppose to play skillfully for the Lord. With that said It really gets me fired up to hear awesome guitarist ripping it up. right now i am trying to learn everything lincoln brewster is doing.

I'm very goal oriented. I need new challenges, and there has to be an end result/purpose. I get super motivated when I have to do something like learn 20 songs in a week for a fill-in gig. I get bored and lose my motivation when I'm just playing the same songs over and over, or when there is nothing challenging about what I'm playing.
