Quick help would be awesome!
I've got about 20 minutes till service and my amp is being weird on me. It's making a soft high pitched squeal and it sounds like a tremolo is on with some overdrive (like the constant throbbing sound that would make, even if I muted my strings).

Does anybody know what this is? I think when we're playing it's quiet enough it's not noticeable at all so it's not the end of the world, but I'm not sure our sound men are quick enough to realize this is going on to turn down the volume between songs.

I have an AC30 and getting to the tubes isn't very easy. Would that be the first thing you'd suggest?

Sounds like tubes to me. Probably power tubes.

Does this mean they have probably gone bad or they just need re-seated?

You shouldn't write a tube off as bad until you've tried reseating it a couple of times.
