Exactly. No Wing=Slow And look at those exhaust pipes. It should have at least 13" diameter tip on it to be taken seriously.

I found that the Gibson Explorer was the most natural transition from a Fender Strat to a Gibson. They have similar balance. I could never make myself buy one though, but someday....maybe.

I can't tell the difference between an SG and a LP on a recording, but playing them, my SG seems to naturally jump out of the mix better than my buddies LPs. It is brighter and more dynamic. I can dig in and get more volume response from the SG while the LPs seem to stay dense and compressed sounding. It could also be the wood though. My SG is walnut and my friends LPs are mahogany, I guess.

That's awesome! It will never happen for me since most factories are closed on my birthday.

btw - My only real Gibson aspiration right now is to have an SG, SG Jr or even Melody Maker with wrap around bridge and P-90s. So I love your avatar!
