(I used to work for a coffee company in high school. I have had good coffee, great coffee, and stuff we used to refer to as roach killer.) | I was about to say EXACTLY this (minus the coffee company experience). Yet again, it's like we're best friends in a movie or something.

| I have been drinking black coffee, no sugar for 38 years. I've had cheap good coffee, and I've had expensive bad coffee. For the most part, though, I find that I get what I pay for.
I was at a restaurant about a month ago, and the waiter came around and asked me if I wanted a refill on my coffee. I looked in the mug at the weak, amber colored water and asked "do you have anything thicker?" He offered to add a shot of espresso to it, but I know that strong bad coffee is no better than weak bad coffee.
I don't like Maxwell House at all. Not fresh, not weak, not strong - it tastes funky no matter what you do to it. |

| MWAHAHAHAHA
It worked better than I could have imagined.
So the first time it was fresh X-Bold starbucks out of a maxwell house container made with the aero press. This time I made the disgusting old mawell house coffee (drip coffee) that I had put in a starbucks bag. I made it using starbucks instructions...
It was horribly bitter but didnt taste like strong coffee at all. Hoewever my "friend" said it was good just a bit too strong. This proves to me that a large number of people equate bitterness with flavor (false) and brand name with quality (somewhat false).
I let him take the bag home to enjoy.

| 1. Coffee def goes bad from the oils rotting
2. Starbucks coffee tastes like burnt coffee grounds with sugar
3. Local farmers market has the best coffee followed by Trader Joes
4. I'm glad you got him good. Are you going to tell him? |

| I think the key to enjoying a good Starbucks coffee is to get the Verona blend, which is superior to any of their other coffees. INCREDIBLY complex flavors.

| I'm a bit of a coffee fiend myself... but I've never thrown out unused grounds. Just use it. |
